Why 37days?

Six It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves. -Edmund Hillary

Day six is a wonderful day. It's a day full of possibility and can.

Run! Wake up! Make art! Journal! Turn off the TV! Look out the window of your RV and think about nothing in particular! Smile! Really listen! Walk! Write!

Cherish.

As we all know, they are too few, these days. Even when they seem long.

Like leaves falling from trees.

This day? Number six? It's magical.

i decided to keep a gratitude journal for 37 days. as a start. no pressure. i thought i’d do it at night, at the end of the day. but i forget. i get home too late. i fall asleep on the couch and then hop into bed in the dark. so i write in my journal whenever i remember. is it kosher to write in the morning and evening? oh my–so much gratitude. i let myself off the hook if i forget, if i write short entries. or in code. or long entries that wander around. and every day i am grateful that i have things and people to write about. and that i have a purple purse to carry my journal in, a pen to write with, a bed and a nightstand next to it at night, heat in my midwest bedroom and many windows that let in the sunlight, the moonlight, the starlight.

I began keeping a Gratitude Journal as part of this 37 day challenge. It’s become so intrinsic to me, after only 6 days. It’s like … eating, or brushing my teeth. What a difference it makes.

    Thanx for your inspiration!

So, Patti – How are *you* doing, with your challenge?

Patti, are you reading my mind!? Yes, I absolutely feel like I am conquering myself … at least that part of myself that has been sabotaging me.

    Yeah for 30 more days!
